40/30/30
or Underground Mass Secrets For Weight Gain?
Im just curious....
some people follow
the 30 40 30 (dont mind abit body fat)
some poeple follow the 40 30 30 (keep body fat down)
any one heard of
the 40 40 30 diet
( or almost equal protein/ carb)
If you want to
gain weight then macronutrient ratios like The Zone or 40/30/30
are a bunch of self sabotaging crap! . Especially for hard
gainers! If you figure out your calroies based on eating 1.5
grams per pound body weight then you will not be eating enough
food for a typical hard gainer to gain weight.:
Example: 150-pound
individual
150 x 1.5 = 225 grams of protein or 900 calories of protein
Then to figure out daily calories you would use the following
equations:
900 = 40x/100
X = 2250 calories per day
To get the amount of calories of fat and carbohydrates:
2250 X .30 = 675 calories per day of fat.
2250 X .30 = 675 calories per day of carbohydrates.
2250 / 150 equals 15 calories per pound body weight.
The result is not enough nutrients for most hard gainers.
By using the highest
amount of protein required daily of 1.5 grams per pound body
weight the
maximum calories per pound body weight ends up at 15 per pound.
The typical hard gainer requires much more to gain weight.
The more complete way to calculate macronutrient requirements
is to figure out
each macronutrient separately according to the subjects requirements.
So otherwise instead of calculating fats and carbohydrates
dependant on a ratio
to the amount of protein intake, protein needs to be figured
out dependant on
your type of activity ,fats need to be figured out independently
according to your
requirements for fat, and carbohydrates need to be figured
out according to your
carbohydrates requirements.
We recommend you start with 19 calories per pound of body
weight to optimise
the anabolic advantage of your accelerated metabolism. A fast
metabolism can
process more nutrients. Now to really take advantage of a
fast metabolism you
must give it not only enough nutrients (higher calories) but
also the type of
nutrients you eat is even more important.
